Differences between Lithuanian and British court systems

Both countries_ Great Britain and Lithuania have their own court systems. British court system is more difficult than Lithuanian.
The higest court in Britain is The House of Lords, the higest court in Lithuania is Constitutional court. In Great Britain there is the Court of Appeal divided in Criminal and Civil divisions, then there is a High Court. n Lithuaniai the High Court is called Supreme Court and it is higher than Appeal Court, which is divided in Criminal and Civil divisions too. A High Court in Britain is divided in Qeen's Bench Division, Chancery Division and Family Division.
The lower courts in Great Britain are Crown Court and County Court, in Lithuania such court is County Court. The lowest court in Britain is Magistrate's Court and in Lithuania Vicinyty Court. In Lithuania there are Specialised Courts- Supreme Administrative Court and County Administrative Court. One more important difference betwee Great Britain and Lithuania is that in our country judgement is made by a judge and ir Britain it is made by a jury.
On the other hand there are some similarities between those countries. In both countries an important part in court proceeding takes wittnesees, also the punishments are similar.
So there are similarities and differences between systems.

Prisons In UK And In Lithuania

There are about 85000 prisoners in United Kingdom and in Lithuania there are about11000prisoners. However in UK there are 160 jails, in Lithunia is only one real jail and quite a lot corectional institutions.
After trial person who was sentenced to inprisonment are send in prison. In both countries that person at first must pass through the reception, whitch is responsible for checking identities and monitoring numbers. In the United kingdom prisoners must wear special clotches and in Lithuania they wear casual clothes.
On special period- called quarantine, new arrivals are seen by a nurse to check they helth or drug adiction. After that they are divided in groups.
In both cuontries a typical wing of prison has cells, dormitories, showers and food servey. Each cell has toilet. In UK very important part takes exercises. Prisons has new equipment, in exercising area exercises prisons and officers together.
In prison inmates can also get education. In both these countries they can graduate school, also get profesional or higher education.
One of biggests problems In UK`s and Lithuania`s prisons is the lack of staff. This is becuase their worrk is invisible, people do not understand that their job are very importan, also very difficult and dangerous. The number of inmates are growwing and there are less snd less staff to look after them. The majority of problems are bullying and self harm, inmates do what they want, there are to less discipline.
To sum ap I want to say that there are a lot of similarities in United Kingdom and in our coutry. There are similar condiotionals of inmates life and work of officers are similar too. In both countries there are existing a lot of problems in prisons and need a lot of time to solve them.

"Civil and public law" summary

There are two main kinds of law- it is civil and public law. The main categories of civil law are contracts, torts, trusts, probate and family law. The public law is divided in crimes, constitutional law and international law. Public law concerns disputis between citizens within a country and civil law concerns disputies between citizens and the state or between two states.
Criminal and civil procedures are different. The main differences are that in criminal action is started by a party called prosecution, however the beginer of of civil action is called plaintif. The other party is called defendant in both kinds of action. The standart of proof in civil case is lower than in the criminal case. In civil action the party which had lost the case has to award damages for example it could be fine. But in the criminal action the party which looses the case is finded guilty and gets punishment for example inprisonment.
Both procedures are quite different and difficult.

Never Again Summary

There are existing two groups of people, one group is for and the other is against death penalty. The most popular kinds of capital punishment are electric chair, gas or lethal injections. Person will think twice before killing if they knew, that they coul be punished in most strict way. If death penalty be existing, the criminals could not commit the crime repeatedly. Murders should pay for commiting crime themselves lives.Arguments against the capital punishment are usually humanitarian. Sometimes wrongly convicted person could be sentences and it is imposible to bring him back to life. The state should show an example for people of not taking lives.
